Stay calm, relaxed, and comfortable during your dental visit with sedation and sleep dentistry. Whether you have dental anxiety or are undergoing a longer procedure, we’re here to help make your experience stress-free.

At our practice, we offer a variety of sedation options to help you feel comfortable and at ease during your dental treatment. Our goal is to ensure you are relaxed and pain-free throughout the procedure. We provide local and oral sedation, but we do not offer nitrous oxide or complete sedation where patients are put to sleep. Your dentist will discuss the best sedation choice for you, taking into account your specific procedure, comfort level, and health history.
Local Anesthesia
This is the most commonly used form of anesthesia. A local anesthetic is applied to the area being treated to “freeze” it, ensuring you feel no pain. You may feel some pressure, but you won’t experience discomfort during the procedure.
Oral Sedation
Oral sedation helps you stay awake while feeling deeply relaxed. For this option, we typically prescribe Ativan, which is taken about one hour before your procedure. You will remain conscious but in a calm and relaxed state.
Choosing the Best Sedation for You
Your dentist will work with you to determine the best sedation method based on your treatment needs, anxiety levels, and medical history. We aim to ensure you have the most comfortable experience possible.

Yes. Before any sedation, we review your medical history carefully to make sure it’s a safe choice for you.
Most people feel calm, sleepy, and very relaxed. Some report a light tingling feeling or mild drowsiness. You may not remember much of the procedure afterward, especially with deeper sedation.
Not necessarily. Most sedation options leave you awake but very relaxed. Full sleep dentistry is only used for specific procedures or needs.
Yes. If you receive sedation (especially oral), you’ll need someone to take you home and stay with you for a few hours.
Recovery time depends on the type of sedation. You may feel drowsy for 2 to 8 hours. We recommend taking the day off and resting for a full 24 hours before returning to normal activities.
